This is a test of an .mp3 upload for my friend and colleague Nergiz Kern who has developed some audio materials to teach English to taxi drivers.

Will Posterous be a good host? Let's see!

Open Laboratory Posters

I have managed to persuade my school to open up an "Open Laboratory" as a drop-in centre for students who don't have internet at home or who want extra help with IT.

We're also going to offer students workshops on a few of the advanced features of Mcrosoft Office, Web 2.0 technology like blogs, podcasts etc and how to design good quality slides for presentations.

These are some of the posters I made to advertise the O.L.

Okay, so here's version II.

But before you look, there's a link to a Google docs version beloiw, too. SO if you are feeling in the mood, you can improve the rubric / alter it etc and of course USE it with your own students.

Please, please feel free to add, remove alter or in any other way you feell fit to improve this blogging rubric.

EFL Blogging Rubric First Draft

Here's the first draft for a marking rubric for blogs. I would really value any feedback anyone can give.

Things I'm looking to check are:

  • Simplicity. - I know that the descriptors aren't extremely easy to understand, but are they readable by student?
  • Descriptors - Do you agree with the descriptors. Should I edit them?
  • Categories - are these categories relevant to language learners. Am I missing any?
Once again, all and any feedback much appreciated!

Task For MediaTeca Staff

Ciao a Tutti!

Here is the theme for your podcast today. Don't forget you have three steps to make:

1) Record your podcast episode via Audacity. Remember it should be in a second language for you!

2) Listen again and check you're happy with your podcast.

3) Export your podcast as an Mp3

4) Email your podcast to post@posterous.com

5) Check your email for a reply from Posterous. It will give you all the details you need to set up, modify and share your podcast.

Good luck and happy Podcasting!

Seth.
